evernote-fan 34
I just switched from Windows 7 to Windows 8 (Desktop App). In Windows 7 I could insert a task with the shortcut "Ctrl + Shift + C". This doesn't work in Windows 8. Does anybody know why? Link to comment
Level 5* gazumped 12,073 Posted January 14, 2014 Level 5* Share Posted January 14, 2014 That shortcut isn't documented in any of the sources I just Googled, so I guess it doesn't exist (any more?). Is there a particular need for it? The note tool bar has a button to insert a check box and copy/ paste works well for me when a carriage return doesn't automatically generate a box. Link to comment
evernote-fan 34
"Ctrl + Shift + C Insert a "To Do" checkbox" --> http://evernote.com/contact/support/kb/#!/article/23168552 I used this shortcut under Windows 7 very often. Link to comment
Level 5* gazumped 12,073 Posted January 15, 2014 Level 5* Share Posted January 15, 2014 Yerp. You're right - missed that first time around. Still not working for me in W8: support ticket I think - seems to be a geenooine bug. Link to comment
Level 5* jefito 5,598 Posted January 15, 2014 Level 5* Share Posted January 15, 2014 Just for the record, I'm not seeing it work in Win 7, either, in the latest release (5.1.1.2304). At a guess, it's Skitch-related. If Skitch is active (i.e., appears in the notification area), then it takes over this shortcut and the bullet-point shortcut (Ctrl+Shift+. If I shut down Skitch, then these shortcuts wotk fine. This is pretty annoying, actually -- I use both of these a lot, particularly at work. And it seems as though Evernote and Skitch ought to play a little better with each other. Link to comment
evernote-fan 34
You're right. It's Skitch related. Since Skitch is now by default opened in the task bar, Ctrl + Shift + C doens't work for checkboxes in EN. Link to comment
spg SCOTT 736
I would disable skitch running in the tray so you can avoid this. It means you have to run skitch manually, but frees up the hotkeys.
