mgpmul 7
Evernote again added a new feature that fills up my notes with non-information, leaving less space for what I want to see: my notes. This time the culprit is the feature 'Introducing code block with syntax highlighting for a smoother experience.' in EN version 10.91.1. (I say 'again' because recently EN also increased the line spacing, see post on this forum: https://discussion.evernote.com/forums/topic/151508-did-line-spacing-just-change-en-10843-windows/) Each of my code blocks now takes up more space than before, because a dropdown menu is added to each code block to select the coding language. I am forced to do more scrolling than before and I have less overview. Can this feature be put behind a setting, so I can disable it? I know my notes, I know what language the code blocks are in. I don't need syntax highlighting in my notes. EN does not have to tell me. Certainly not when it takes away space for my real notes. Link to comment
Level 5* gazumped 12,062 Posted June 10 Level 5* Share Posted June 10 Hi. We're mainly other users here. For a more timely notification please raise this with Support https://help.evernote.com/hc/requests/new (be very patient for a response) or feed it back to feedback@evernote.com. In both cases you'll get a 'thanks' response but they won't keep you in the loop - when and if the feature changes it will come as part of a future update. Link to comment
mgpmul 7
I don't understand your reply, @gazumped. You say 'We'r mainly other users here'. I found other issues about the code block in the same category, i.e. in Home > Forums > Possible Bugs/Technical Issues > Evernote for Windows Issues (Versions 10.0 and above) . They were not given the answer that is was wrongly posted. What would be the proper path to post my issue on the forum? (Yes, I will also create a ticket, but as you say, there will be a slow response and I am just curious to know whether my case makes sense to others as well). Link to comment
mgpmul 7
Anyway, I submitted it as a request: https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/requests/3907906 Link to comment

I can't see your specific report, but anyone can see their own recent posts here - https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/requests Link to comment

There are a few folk with very specific issues posting but generally the feedback I've got from my own community is along the lines of "finally we have syntax highlighting." I use code blocks myself a lot, for code and find the new blocks an excellent addition. 2 Link to comment
