How can I search within one notebook stack? (EN v10-latest/Windows)

Recommended Posts

Hello there,

I can search within one notebook. I can search globally.

But how do I search within a stack of notebooks?

It would be intuitive to select the stack (as in EN v6) then start a search, but this does not work for me.

Select the stack from the filters menu, in the notebook filter. You can select it right as a notebook.

Or type in a search term and add stack:mystackname . If you want to exclude a stack, set a „-„ in front of the command.

This then becomes subject to the "you can't filter then search" bug. If you press F10 twice to collapse and then re-expand the sidebar you go from this

to this

You can then add your search term and press enter - this will be ignored. Then go in to the search again and press enter again and it works! This is madness but EN don't seem to care.

To avoid this you can search and then filter.

The correct format for the search syntax is

stack:

NOT

instack:
