Note Limit Notification Error

I am unable to create new notes even though I only have 14 notes saved currently. When I try to create a new note, I get a popup that says "Upgrade to create unlimited notes and notebooks" and "you are limited to 50 notes". I also get bombarded with a notification to upgrade when I leave Evernote unattended for a short period of time.

I went through and deleted a lot of notes to get it down to only 14 and also emptied my trash bin.

Please advise.

Check the trash to see if any are in there. Trashed notes count towards the 50.

Also, you don't say how many notebooks you have.  If you have more than one notebook, that is likely the issue. You are limited to one notebook in the free plan.
