Is it possible to disable Auto formatting on Evernote 10

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I just upgraded to 10.64.3 on my Mac after weeks of nagging.
After creating new note and typing a # followed by a space, I see evernote "kindly" auto formatted this into a larger header for me.
Considering I use UNIX a lot and make notes where I include the root shell prompt (#) this is going to be hugely annoying.

Is there anyway to turn this off?

Thanks,

Jason

Can't turn it off but you can hit backspace after the space that creates the heading and it goes back to normal text.

A lot of folk were screaming for markdown features for years but maybe in the future there could be a setting to switch it on/off.

Unfortunately, no way to turn it off yet as Jon pointed out. I've used the backspace a lot to undo the auto-formatting (Cmd-Z also works) and got used to that pretty quick.

If you are making notes where you are including the root shell prompt, perhaps you'd care to put them in a code block like:

That will also prevent a heading from being made. It's three backticks and then a space to start a code block: ```

or inline like
