Jayce 2
Hi all, I just upgraded to 10.64.3 on my Mac after weeks of nagging. After creating new note and typing a # followed by a space, I see evernote "kindly" auto formatted this into a larger header for me. Considering I use UNIX a lot and make notes where I include the root shell prompt (#) this is going to be hugely annoying. Is there anyway to turn this off? Thanks, Jason Link to comment
Jon/t 1,313
Can't turn it off but you can hit backspace after the space that creates the heading and it goes back to normal text. A lot of folk were screaming for markdown features for years but maybe in the future there could be a setting to switch it on/off. 2 Link to comment
Boot17 1,467
Unfortunately, no way to turn it off yet as Jon pointed out. I've used the backspace a lot to undo the auto-formatting (Cmd-Z also works) and got used to that pretty quick. If you are making notes where you are including the root shell prompt, perhaps you'd care to put them in a code block like: That will also prevent a heading from being made. It's three backticks and then a space to start a code block: ``` or inline like 1 Link to comment
Jayce 2
Thanks for the quick reply. I accidentally noticed that if I type ⌘Z (Undo) this has the same effect as the backspace. 2 Link to comment
