Export all folders to local drive

Recommended Posts

Is there an easy way to do this?  I want a copy of the evernote files on my drive that I can access directly.

I want to export the note along with any attachments into a local folder.  I have lost too much data and no longer trust evernote.  I am migrating to Google Drive as that has all of the features I use in Evernote.

Hi.  If you have access via a desktop,  go to the Notebooks page and click the three-dots menu to the right of any notebook name.  You should be able to export all notes to a variety of formats.

If you have lost data I hope you contacted Evernote Support to see if there was a possibility to recover it.

There are 2 ways for a bulk backup.

Backuppery, a paid service that can run different sorts of cloud services backup.

A GitHub project by a fellow user, that will use a Python script to export a full account to a database. From the database ENEX files can be created.

As third concept you can export each notebook individually. The effort depends on the number of notebooks.

I exported the folder as individual html files.  Nearly all of my notes have pdf attachments.  When I open the html file for the note, the link to the pdf is there, but it doesn't work.  On the otherhand, the pdf is there (in the folder but not accessible from the html file) and Drive is able to search inside of it.

One thing I don't know how to resolve (easily) in Drive is the note concept (having text and the pdf in the note/file): when I scan a new pdf into Drive it will create a new pdf and put it into my todo folder.  I can rename the pdf file and move it to the appropriate folder, but will not be able to attach notes to it.  I could create another new folder, move the pdf into it and add a text document, but this seems klunky and time consuming (even though I don't normally do this very often.) Any suggestions on this?

neither of these methods allow for searching

So basically you're looking for the benefits f a note-taking app without actually using a note-taking app?  There's a reason that specialised software exists for that type of process.  With sufficient effort and technical savvy you could possibly cobble together a system to save editable data to your hard drive,  but it will involve several applications, and it won't be a 'seamless' activity.

If you still have your basic notes in a free Evernote account you can search for your content there - I'd suggest you look around for a new note-taking app for future use.
