Evernote app stopped worked completely

After the latest Evernote app update, it now gives an error message every time upon starting up: "Something went wrong on our end, sorry about that. Please try restarting Evernote." Reinstalling the app didn't help. I have Mac 10.13.6 OS. Is it possible to install a previous version of the app before the update screwed it up?

The v10 client needs MacOS 10.15 as minimum system requirement. It can be that EN updates come with an update of the Electron framework. This can cause a crash on older OS versions

Update your macOS if possible.

If not, you can move to the web client.

I cannot update my MacOS at this point – my computer is too old. Is there a way to install a legacy Evernote version without the update that rendered it unusable for me?

There are sources for older versions in the web - Filehippo.com for example.

Another option would be to switch to the web client.
