HalG 0
I have 15 years of data in Evernote and had a paid subscription for most of those years. Retired, with the price increase, it just did not make sense to subscribe any more, even at personal level. I just basically want to occasionally update and access my data. Last week, I became a free user. Now, I get the same messages no matter what device I try to log on - only two devices. I set it so I could log on to my iPhone and PC desktop but I can't log onto either or the web. Now it says I have to wait another month so I can sync again. I've tried to log on to the web and every one of my devices. it won't let me in. There is no customer support for free users. Really a horrible way to treat long term subscribers even if I now want to go free - especially since it has all my data. Yes, I could (and probably will) pay for a month, but it is ridiculous. Level 5* gazumped 12,070 Posted September 13, 2023 Level 5* Share Posted September 13, 2023 I sympathise, but while you know you're only connecting with two devices, I wonder if Evernote knows that? And the web counts as a device too, so you have actually tried three. Best option would be to use the web version on your desktop and the app on iPhone. You'll need the web version to log into https://www.evernote.com/Devices.action and check what devices Evernote thinks are connecting. You have two chances to fix this before you revert to paying - or waiting... Link to comment
Level 5 Solution PinkElephant 8,819 Posted September 13, 2023 Level 5 Solution Share Posted September 13, 2023 @HalG You paid, and received the service related to it. Once your subscription expired, you are on the terms of the Free plan. Make sure your device count is on the level for Free use BEFORE you drop to that level. https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/articles/218558068-Understanding-the-device-limit If you want to drop a device, first open it a last time, and LOG OUT. Only then go to another, and unsync the device. BTW you can thank EN every day for being very generous to former paying users. You get all your existing notes stored in safe cloud storage, with full access, at the moment indefinitely, for Free. That’s quite unique, and after collecting content over 15 years, it is a real value you receive, for nothing. Enjoy it while it lasts. Link to comment
HalG 0
Hi Pink, Thank you. The link was helpful. I realized I was using an Edge Browser (usually I use Chrome) when I last accessed Evernote. I was able to access my data via the Edge browser. I am normally quite positive and appreciate your sentiments about Evernote allowing me to keep my data with them. That being said, the offramp and the options for renewing at the level of my useage has left a lot to be desired. Link to comment
