ceaclouc 0
When copying weblinks of Notes to paste into an Excel sheet, the pasting process adds extra lines (pastes into every other line) - this is a huge devolution from prior function, and waste of time to manually delete all the extra lines from the sheet. Level 5* gazumped 12,074 Posted May 30, 2023 Level 5* Share Posted May 30, 2023 Hi. ?? When I paste weblinks I get weblinks. Can you provide a screenshot or at least an example link to a test note? Link to comment

For me a weblink contains an URL (https://www.evernote.com/shard/...) but shows readable text (title of the note). If I create a weblink in EN and paste it to Excel or somewhere else, only the URL text comes up. Excel changes this to a real URL (hotlink) - but the readable text (note title) is lost. If I create an internal link in EN and paste it to Excel or somewhere else, only the URL text (evernote:///...) comes up. The readable text (note title) is lost. Here's my example: BTW: Legacy works correct 😉 Link to comment

That's not what the OP asked, but since you inquire... try pasting the weblink into it's own note. evernote:///view/120918/s2/09ec1378-30a3-4e5f-b457-71c5d2992279/fa9de20f-8992-4fda-bb6d-a79eb5fdxxxx forinstance when pasted back into Evernote, comes up as 5.15% savings, £5 Sim, £200 energy help, old £20 notes when pasted locally, then here... (That note is not shared, so I'd imagine the title link won't work either...) Link to comment

OK, works fine - but is not what the OP asked 😉 He/she/we hope to get this result when pasting to Excel (and you know: like EN-L does when copy/pasting to EXL...) But since we are at it: EN-before-L pasted a valid URL ("evernote:///") to EXL whereas EN-L uses the weblink URL ("https://") - but decorated by the note title in both cases. EN-L will not be changed, OK. But EN10 should work as follows: If I create a weblink and paste it to Excel or somewhere else the weblink should come up with note title and https://-URL in behind. If I create an internal link and paste it to Excel or somewhere else the link should come up with note title and evernote:///-URL in behind. Windows (and I strongly believe other OSes also) support this functionality between apps that are enabled to use it. Link to comment

Excel on Win 11 also seems to work a little differently from Win 10 - posting a link seemed to include both the evernote:/// version and the www. version depending on where you were posting. I can get either type though from pasting a link to a note first. If someone has a coherent explanation for what is happening vs what should happen, maybe a support ticket? What I have works well enough for my needs... Link to comment
Mike P 2,982
I wondered whether the critical point was weblinks (plural). I pasted a list of weblinks (both as a bulleted list and just as links on separate lines) and Excel parsed it perfectly as one link per row with no gaps. 1 Link to comment
