Skitch does not work anymore

Hey Folks,

i am using Evernote and especially skitch for a over a decade now. Actually it works very well, but i now got an issue in skitch. If i want to take a screenshot it does not work. I press the button in the middle of skitch and normally you can select the area of the screen you want to screenshot. But now it happens NOTHING. Literally NOTHING 😞 Of course i checked the permissions in the settings. I already uninstalled skitch and reinstalled it, but the issue remains. Has anyone a hint what i can do or how can i debug?

Hi.  Skitch hasn't been updated in ages - there are many other screenshot apps out there;  maybe time to consider a switch...

@Mimez I would say you deliver the missing information, and we show you some things you can try. Skitch is working for me - I just don’t use it much anymore.

Mine alternates between crashing to snapping nothing also when it is open. The time may have finally come to use an alternative. It's too bad, it was good when it worked.

When it snaps nothing (or better, it snaps only the background, which on a white monitor may look like nothing), it misses an allowance in MacOS settings, Privacy, Screen Recording. Once the option is set, it clips correctly.

I see the only (gradual) advantage of Skitch that it syncs clipped content with my EN account. However there are better tools, and I can always send the clipped content by other means.
