Use v10, and create a symbolic link to another drive. Should be an SSD, a turning disk is too slow to allow for good responsiveness. Nothing new, legacy sucked from a HDD as well. Google can tell you the details, YT shows how to set it up.

Or use the web client.

Legacy is now deprecated for 2 years, and it is not dying, it is already zombified. There was ample time to switch over.

Your data is safe and dry on the server, that should be your least concern. Unless you still have local notebooks …

My Evernote Legacy is still working using local notebooks on an encrypted local drive mounted on an SSD.

If you backed up your EXB files you should be able to restore your database.
