All rights reserved macOS Big Sur 11.7 After the recent update, when clicking in the top of a note for the first time after viewing or editing another note, the cursor jumps down to the bottom of the note. This happens whether the top of the note is a blank line or has text. However, clicking on any other line with text other than the top line does not elicit the cursor jump, nor does clicking on the top line after that first click. The cursor should always appear on the line and at the position that is clicked, and not jump anywhere. 1 Link to comment

rwestcott1 0
Having the same problem. I select a note and click the location at the top where I want to insert text; then sudenly the cursor disappears because it has moved to the end of the note. Is there a fix or must we suffer and wait? Link to comment

gamut 0
I am having the same issue of cursor jumping to the bottom. I have my latest notes at the top of the screen. Is there a setting that needs to be changed? Link to comment
Karthik C 0
I'm experiencing the same issue and it's quite annoying because i (like others) keep my most recent notes at the top of the page. I understand this helping folks who keep their most recent notes at the bottom of the page. But why not just make this a setting or something? I've only noticed this issue in the past few weeks so it must be the result of a recent update. Link to comment
Greenlaw 3
Same problem here in the standalone version of Evernote for Windows, as well as in the online version using Chrome. Click on a note and Evernote automatically jumps to the end of the note. Super annoying because I typically append my daily entries at top of the page, and some of these notes can be many dozens of pages long. Hope this can be fixed soon. Link to comment

Greenlaw 3
On any Windows device...I run Evernote on desktop and two laptops, Windows 10 and 11. I keep Evernote updated to the latest and just received notification for an update a few minutes ago. Will be right back after checking the latest update. As for the web version of Evernote, I'm running the latest version of Chrome and see this issue on multiple computers at home and at work, all running either Windows 10 or 11. Link to comment
Greenlaw 3
I just installed 10.48.5 and this release appears to fix the problem in the standalone version. Now that was quick service...thanks guys! This behavior started with the previous update and it was making me nuts! 😸 Still seeing the problem in the web version though. Will assume this is being worked on. 1 Link to comment
Greenlaw 3
Hmm...I checked the web version again and now it seems to be behaving itself. I'm wondering if this behavior occurs when Evernote is first initialized on a device. Hopefully this issue is fixed but I'll post again when I'm able to test specifically for this issue and gather more information. Link to comment
Level 5 PinkElephant 8,829 Posted November 16, 2022 Level 5 Share Posted November 16, 2022 The web client updates itself, so maybe it is resolved. Link to comment
Greenlaw 3
Ack! It just happened again in the web version. In this case, it occurred after I closed Chrome and logged back into Evernote for web. It's not doing this with every note but it just did it with a recent note I had been editing. ATM, I think this happens when I click in the note while Evernote may still be caching the entire note in the browser page. That's just a guess though. I don't know if this is why it was happening earlier in the standalone version for Windows. Will post again when I have more information. Link to comment
srbridge 0
Same problem for me. Really annoying as I too add to the top of my notes each time. The web version works for me, but not the desktop version on my Mac (which is my main usage) Link to comment
Greenlaw 3
Hmm...the problem is still there and here's some additional info... This morning I payed closer attention to what's going on and it appears that when I click inside the note immediately after selecting it, Evernote will scroll to the bottom of the note. But if I wait a moment after selecting the note and then click inside it, the cursor stays at the top, no scrolling. So, yeah, the error does appear to be caching-related. I've been using Evernote for several years without ever seeing this problem so it's a fairly recent behavior. This was in the web version, btw. I'll check if I see the same behavior with the Windows standalone later this week. Update; Yup, definitely still a problem in the standalone version for Windows. Link to comment
Level 5* gazumped 12,072 Posted November 18, 2022 Level 5* Share Posted November 18, 2022 As before - if you see this issue, please notify Support or use Feedback to advise them about it. Link to comment
Greenlaw 3
Thanks and will do. I just wanted to check with other users reporting the issue here to learn if there was a known solution. BTW, I'm trying one more thing today: On Windows in Settings>Bluetooth & Devices>Mouse, there is an option called Scroll Inactive Windows When Hovering Over Them. This is a useful feature but I wondered if it was somehow conflicting with Evernote (Standalone and Web.) I disabled it this morning and, so far anyway, I don't see the problem. Will keep this option disabled for a few days and post again to verify if this actually changes anything for the odd behavior in Evernote. Of course, even if this does help, it's not a solution for Mac users reporting the issue. 1 Link to comment
Greenlaw 3
A follow up to what I wrote a few months ago: The potential fix by disabling Scroll Inactive that I mentioned in the above post didn't seem to work reliably, if at all, but sometime since the beginning of this year the problem finally went away for me on the Evernote web, desktop and iPhone apps. To the developers who fixed it, thank you so very much! This bug was maddening, especially for long journal notes I updated daily from the top. Using Evernote is a great experience again. 😸 1 Link to comment
