Syncing Failed with Web Clipper

Recommended Posts

Every time I use Webclipper, the sync fails and returns a SYNC_FAILED unknown error

I've tried it on Chrome and Edge but didn't see a difference in the error logs. Clipping the article, simplified article, and screenshot all produce the same results.

Here is the error logs - It seems fine with auto syncing but then when I clip at 7:15, it returns the error Listener is already registered. Any idea what's up with this?

Hi @CausticChemist, thanks for reporting this. What version were you on with the log snippet you shared? 7.18 is currently the latest. Also, I see you mention it happens every time regardless of clip style - but is this error happening for you on all sites as well or just some? Do you remember any specific or general steps to reproduce when this happens by chance?

@Jay-Bob

I have the same issue. This issue has existed for several months and has not been fixed...

Evernote extension version: 7.19.0

Browser version: Chrome 98.0.4758.102 macOS

LOG Note upload abandoned!
ERR Channel: Message 'tabClipper.clip' failed with error: UNK/SYNC_FAILED

How to reproduce: Clipping more than one page at the same time has a high chance of raising this error. The issue can be reproduced on any page, it will happen often but not always

1. Open page 1 and click "Save clip"
2. Open page 2 and click "Save clip" while page 1 is clipping

or

1. Open page 1 and start web clipper
2. Open page 2 and start web clipper
3. Switch to page 1 and click "Save clip"
4. Switch to page 2 and click "Save clip"

Both pages have a chance of random errors

Thank you @Zec for the additional details, we've intermittently been able to reproduce similar behavior as well. Our development team is aware of this and will be investigating, but I don't have an estimate yet on when to expect this to be fixed.
