Evernote adding numbers to file extension

Recommended Posts

I am using Evernote 10.19.2 for Mac

AT least sometimes when I import a pdf into Evernote, it automatically adds some numbers to the end of the extension.

For example, "Questions.pdf"  becomes "Questions.pdf.1330614"

I can view the file in evernote itself but if I try to open in a third party software such as Preview I receive the error: "There is no application set to open the document"

I need to save the document to my computer, and manually rename the file extension anytime I wish to open it.

If I try to import the newly renamed file back into evernote, it changes the extension again.

I also tried to "rename" the file within evernote, but whatever name I give the file, evernote will add a string of numbers to the end making it impossible to open.

This only seems to happen with certain files, but do not know why.

Is this a software bug?

Thank you,

Jason

Hi.  Don't know whether or not this is a bug,  but it's obviously not expected behaviour if the renamed file isn't then openable with other software.  I'd suggest you raise this with Support (user2user forums here).  I'm not having the same experience,  but maybe they've had other reports.  Please let us know what they say...
