Backup Notes from iPad to external hard drive

Hello! I want to backup all EN Premium notes onto an external hard drive for safekeeping. I write on an iPad mini 4, iOS 13.3.1. Having searched the discussions, I don't see this issue addressed. Does anyone know if this is 1) possible and 2) straightforward in process?  Thanks for considering.

Not currently supported by Evernote/IOS     
The only backup solution I know is cloudHQ, a cloud solution backing up to a cloud drive   
Currently, backup is only supported on the Windows/Mac platforms, via the Export feature

I moved this discussion to the Requests forum, but I don't see it being implemented

... the backup is in the end nearly double the price of the EN Premium subscription. If the use case is not to set it up for other services as well, it is IMHO not worth the money.

Since the data of all apps is sandboxed in iOS, I don’t see a viable solution to run a local backup on an iOS device.
