Import Folders and Files - how to disable auto-tags

I often save documents into a folder that automatically imports it into Evernote. The problem is, when I am working with Evernote Desktop, I often have it open with specific tags selected that I am viewing. When I save the file into the synced folder on my desktop and it imports the file, it auto-tags the file with whatever tags I have selected in the open Evernote Desktop. As a result, files get mis-tagged. Is there a way to turn off the auto-tag when importing files through synced folders?

Tools - Options - Note and uncheck Assign selected tags to new notes.

Note that if you ever email notes to yourself, you need to change that setting in the web.
