Playground Buddy 0 Posted January 12, 2019 Posted January 12, 2019 My principal note keeping device, a laptop, failed in December. I replaced it and signed in to Evernote. I have most of my stuff but it seems that at least a couple of months of notes on the dead laptop are not in my current files (new laptop, online or phone). If I recover the hard drive from the failed laptop, can I just copy files to recover this work, or should I try to get the old computer to reboot one more time?
Level 5* EdH 1,670 Posted January 14, 2019 Level 5* Posted January 14, 2019 Notes are in a big database, so you cannot restore just one note. A few options: 1 get it to boot and sync one more time putting those notes in your account. 2 copy the database to your current PC. You would lose any changes on your PC not yet in the cloud so make sure it is synced. 3 copy the database to another PC and sync it, or export the missing notes an ENEX files and import them on your current pc. There are other ways but mostly a variation of the above.

Evernote is a cloud service, with our data maintained on servers This should not be impacted by dead and new devices. Check the master version of your notes on the server using the web platform (www.evernote.com)
