Fernando Maiello 0 Posted December 22, 2016 Posted December 22, 2016 Hi, Does anyone nows if it is possible assign specific tags for a notebook? There is anyway to let the specific tag be used only when I work with the notebook? Thanks

No, the taglist is available for all notebooks, no restriction (except for shared notebooks) With shared notebooks, only the owner can add tags The tags are restricted to those in the notebook I do apply tag controls on my Mac using scripting (Mac AppleScript)

Thanks No automatic way, but you can create your own method by prefixing tags with the notebook name or some abbreviation of the name, I.tag for an Inbox tag for example. Out of interest why do you want to restrict the tags?

For me, completely unstructured entry is a concern You can simply save a note with the default title, and no tags You can start specifyng tags and maybe you'll get them all, maybe not An example is a note for a Doctor's appointment My standard is that I tag the note with the Doctor's name I want to be presented with a list of my Doctors for a tag; I don't want to see the entire tag list One way to do this is prefix your tags accordingly. For example all doctor tags begin with "Dr.", so when typing tag name "Dr." I get a list of doctor tags This is similar to your notebook prefix, start typing "I." and the dropdown list only shows the I. tags
