Feature Request - Audio Sync to Text

Idea

I'm sure this topic has been beaten to death, but does Evernote ever plan to offer the sync audio to text feature (see OneNote or Notability)?

Evernote don't (usually) comment on whether or when a particular feature might be released.  Personally,  I doubt they'll ever get to this because 1) there are already established products out there that do a good job and 2) the need for this feature is unlikely to affect more than a very small portion of their current user-base,  and even more unlikely to draw new users in for that one feature alone.

Voice to text is already possible via the various mobile personal assistants.  I don't even use Evernote as a primary audio recorder - it's easier to use a more feature-rich app to create a cross-platform MP3 file that I can attach to a note.  Apps like Cogi and Otter are free for more specialised uses.  I'd hate to imagine how much it might cost Evernote to match either of those in performance,  and how (or whether) they'd ever make any of that cost back in new sales.

Thanks for the post, Gazumped. I'm sure you're right about the likelihood of the response.

That said, the feature I am talking about is not "voice to text" as you say, but audio recording sync to text. This feature is invaluable when note taking and is very fleshed out in both Notability and MS One Note. I see this as something that is lacking in EV, while present in other competing apps. It is something that could be very beneficial for a large swath of the EV user base (see students, admin staff, or anyone who has to take notes during a meeting).

There is no indication that Evernote is interested in this feature.

I recomend the Notablity app for note taking along with the audio>text sync.
It's not something I need in the Evernote editor.

fwiw   I store the Notability documents in Evernote as note attachments; in both pdf and native format.
