  1. Absolutely. Can't hit the Vote button hard enough.
  2. Thanks, PinkElephant. I hear you and appreciate the response. I likely don't know enough to realize we're actually saying the same thing, but for me, the lack of deeper nesting I can live with, and I really don't need full outlining like we see in word-processing software. I'd just love to be able to collapse what falls beneath headings to save a lot of scrolling through big chunks of notes. But I gather from the programming side, that involves creating a clear text hierarchy that is tantamount to outlining capability. The fact that it's been passed over so many times sure doesn't suggest it's on its way. But it seems to be well received in at least one competitor, and maybe that steps its value up a bit. Anyway, thanks for your time!
  3. Thanks, all. Yeah, this just pops up more and more often for me. The TOC workaround is a huge amount of work and creates an explosion of notes that isn't needed if notes can just hide sections. I'm no programmer, so I don't quite get the complication on the back end, but the front-side implementation could simply be connected by the use of large, medium, and small headings, with a small arrow next to each allowing what's contained below to collapse upward until it's needed. It would clean things up so well! Waiting patiently...
  4. Absolutely a great idea. A TOC is a usable workaround but just SO MUCH WORK compared to this very simple solution. Plus, if you're already down at the end of EN's nested hierarchy, you can't break a note down further. This would really help me a lot. 🙏🏻
  5. I would love this, too, and/or a way to collapse sections. I understand one of Evernotes competitors has a fantastic feature that allows you to click an arrow next to a subheading, alternately hiding and revealing that section. For complex notes, that would be a godsend. I much prefer not to break some notes into separate notes collected in a notebook, and in some cases just CAN'T because I'm already as far in as the hierarchy allows. But just having subheadings that collapse would let me hide content I don't need to see just now and simplify the view and navigation greatly.
  6. Thank you, Mike P! Those are both helpful. I appreciate your taking some time to send these!
  7. Evernote is awesome for capturing stuff from other apps to a new note, as well as for adding to a current note from within it. I find it frustratingly slow to add things to a specific note from outside the app, however. Let's say I want to capture a webpage to a travel note I already have; or forward a crucial email to a file; or add a picture someone just texted me to a note I have about that weekend; or include a reservation just sent to me in my travel note... All of these can be done any number of ways but if I'm in another app and workflow at that time, they all involve either stopping what I'm doing to open EN and create something I can import, etc, OR to capture it to a new note and move those contents later (which means remembering to do so, finding the new note, and so on). I want to be able to throw it in a note I'm already working with quickly. The request is to be able to target specific notes from the capturing/forwarding systems. That would involve some programming but in the meantime, how about at least being able to capture straight to the Scratch Pad, or some designated holding spot? If anyone can relate to the problem I'm trying to solve, help me make this case or suggest something better! Many thanks.
