The OneDrive icon in the notification area on my machine is monochrome, as is Dropbox. There are no rules for taskbar icon color schemes; green, white, plaid, it's all pretty much the same to me, once I've adjusted (note: I'm using the 6.15.1 beta). That being said, it does seem a little weird that the taskbar icon  is green and the icon in the notification area is white -- they should probably both be the same color scheme.

I have OneDrive for Business on this machine, and it is blue. OneDrive (consumer) itself is a black/white icon, so while that is techincally monochrome, that is the product's branding and is consistent with the app, folder icons, and the system tray app.

At least on my machine, Evernote is the only app that has a system icon tray icon that isn't a mini-me version of the taskbar icon.

We are working to improve the customer experience.

I hope so. Because it hasn't worked out that way so far in the last 2+ years. Product reliability is not near what it should be.

Our purpose is simple: we’re here to help people focus on what matters most.

I don't even know where to start with this one. My cursor continues to jump around, the the cursor at the bottom of the note is below my screen, general releases get published with sync errors that were clearly identified in the beta builds, merging notes can still cause data loss - which can be corrected if you notice and retrieve from the trash can, and the UI still freezes way too often. And that just touches the surface of the issues identified in the forums.

This is just frustrating. The wrong thing is being focused on. This feels like something that was done to garner some positive press on a snazzy new icon and font, not something that would actually improve the reliability of the product.

  3. What I gathered after reading both articles on Medium and looking at this forum:

    1. we have a new font
    2. The icon in my browser tab is now green instead of black
    3. Evernote for Windows is not any faster
    4. Emoji support is still in the windows client
    5. Notes still have unreasonably fat margins

    Did I miss anything?

    1. Go to your Evernote account on the web.
    2. Select your Avatar in the lower left, then settings.
    3. Select DEVICES in the Account Summary at the top.
    4. Select REVOKE ACCESS to whatever device you no longer want to have access.

With a basic subscription, you are only allowed to sync 2 devices at once, so if you remove all but one, you'll be able to add your new desktop.

would really like this feature. Have spent far too many hours trying to come up with an applescript or regex or keyboard maestro macro to clean up merged notes, which honestly look like a complete mess.

Emoji support is higher on the list unfortunately. Just put some smiley faces in your notes around the big gray borders. That will take your mind off of it.

When emoji support is fully baked, I expect sprinkles and animated GIF support will come next. Then they will maybe get back to things that would help with platform parity.

When I use Evernote on my cell phone I have it set up so that I have to enter a Pin for security. I would like to have that same ability on my windows computer.

This often requested, but doesn't exist. The main reason is, the PIN would provide NO security. On a mobile device like iOS, if you cannot get into Evernote past the PIN, your data is locked and unobtainable. So it works.

On the PC or Mac, your database is in plain text on your hard drive, so if they launched Evernote and got the PIN code, they could just navigate to the database and get your information there via a text editor. If you don't want them in your app, log out of Evernote when you are done.

If you want to protect your data from thieves, then lock your computer when away, and encrypt your hard drive. But if you leave your login profile open and walk away from your PC, even if you have logged out of Evernote, your DB is still there, in plain text (your profile has decrypted access to your data on an encrypted HD) for the taking.

  6. Why, when I log into Evernote.com to access my data, is Evernote trying to set third party cookies to DoubleClick.net and Tealiumiq.com? DoubleClick is an ad tracking company. What are they paying you for when I open my notes? I am not sure what Tealiumiq is even after going to their website.

I am continuing to block their cookies, and uBlock Origin is blocking DoubleClick scripts.

I am having constant issues with the desktop app continually syncing in the midst of my typing. Not only is it continually disrupting the flow of my work, when its done syncing, it is often "refreshed" at the top of my note and then what I was typing at the bottom of the note appears at the top, so not only is it slowing me down, it's causing me to fix and retype content. THIS IS MADDENING. I use this application for its efficiency. This making it borderline unusable. THIS NEEDS TO BE FIXED. I've looked at other posts with similar problems that directed users to update to 7.1. Done that. Problem is still here.

You posted this in the Windows forum, but list a mac version. Which is it?

I agree. I'm in the same predicament.

After countless hours of frustration, I finally bit the bullet and dropped down to Version 6.5.4

I assume that was an uninstall, wipe the database, and start over with a fresh download? Might consider that.... When was 6.5 released? How far back is that from 6.12 today?

Besides emoji support, what will I lose?

  10. Yup. too much rush get new g-whiz features in it and not enough on stability.

My situation right now is our company has standardized on Office 365, so we are a OneNote shop for business. I personally have a TON TON TON of stuff in Evernote though, but I can see in the medium term leaving it all there, as it never goes away, dropping to the free plan, and putting stuff in OneNote personally going forward. I haven't decided.

It isn't what I want to do though. I like the concept of Evernote much better than OneNote, but OneNote is rock solid stable. I can type in there for hours with no pauses, stutters, lockups, and there are no noticeable bugs I am aware of. I am sure there are bugs - there are in every software out there, but Evernote's bug level is that of an alpha product honestly, worse than most beta's I participate in, whereas OneNote's bug level is that of a polished and carefully released product

Oh, and I am actually using OneNote in a "beta" ring with Microsoft, so actually, OneNote's beta is what I consider rock solid stable. I am sure the deferred channel is even better.

  11. Part of the issue is the new crop of Windows on ARM machines. Those will only run 32bit apps if they are based on the x86 chips. So even if Evernote made a 64 bit version, it would need to maintain the 32bit platform as well.

If WoA is not successful, then it won't matter, but if it is, or at least successful enough to want customers on it, EN should stick with 32bit for a while to see how that shakes out.

Hi,I also often see Evernote's dying, unable to open the window. I need to end the evernote process in Task Manager before you can start it again. Win10 64bit, 8Gbit RAM, hope developers pay attention to this issue.Thanks.

Evernote's problem isn't 64bit vs 32bit. 64bit will only help in RAM needs above 3GB per process. Evernote takes very little RAM. Mine says 56MB right now.

The performance issue is the database, which is on the hard drive, not RAM.
