  1. This used to be a feature in the old Android version of Evernote. It was intuitive, a super helpful option, and made widgets real time savers. The new widgets allow you to take actions, but not to select where to save the new notes. Please, bring back this feature!
  2. No less than 3 tickets. Fragmented responses via email. Completely ineffective. Evernote is a service - you pay a subscription fee and are supposed to get the advertised features. When what you pay for doesn't work, you should be able to reach someone that can resolve the issue. That's service. That's NOT what Evernote is currently providing. An unfortunate trend in the tech industry. What would be nice, is an acknowledgement, reply from Evernote staff in the forums, in this thread, that this is a known issue that will be resolved. In the meantime, with limited help via chat, Evernote did provide the link to download the old version of Evernote for Android. http://evernote.s3.amazonaws.com/android/google-play/com.evernote.google-play.8.13.3.1083330.allArch.6087.apk I uninstalled the new version and re-installed the old version. I am once again able to scan documents via my Android device, they are properly displayed as thumbnails in the notebook view, and are properly indexed via OCR and displayed among relevant search results. Not sure why if it worked for a decade in the old app, that it's so difficult to program it to work correctly in the new version.
  3. I still don't see this issue being fixed. Major malfunction, huge problem. Radio silence from Evernote.
  4. Then the EN servers are busted or *****. I have tried the search repeatedly - right away, after a few hours, next day, a week later. Still nothing. The majority of the images (documents/receipts) I scan are not properly converted into thumbnails, EXACTLY as the OP described, just a generic document icon. These are the images that do not show up in a search. Occasionally, and I have no idea why, the thumbnail is correctly created/displayed and for those images, they do show up in search results as they should.
  5. I am also having the same problem, verbatim. If I can't search scanned documents, Evernote is essentially useless to me. Update (downgrade) should have never been rolled out like this.
  6. Problem is that you used to be able to create a widget and specify a notebook to place that new note into. You no longer have that option.
  7. At least they added the Widgets back with a recent update to v10. All that was there initially was a link to the app. Problem now is you used to be able to select a Notebook for which to create a new note using an Evernote action widget. I don't see that as an option anymore. I want my notes created with a widget to go into a specific notebook - otherwise I have to go in manually later on and move them all.

  9. My problem is that when saving an image using the document camera/'Scan a document', it saves it within the note, but does not properly render it as a thumbnail within the notebook view. The text contained within the scanned document/image is also unsearchable.
  10. Unfortunately there has also been Feature Destruction. Ever since the new software was released at the end of the year, I can no longer reliably save documents using the 'Scan document' feature from my Android device in a way that creates a thumbnail and is searchable. Instead, the images are saved and viewable after opening the note, but are shown as a generic 'document' graphic instead of a thumbnail image from the notebook view. Furthermore, when searching for text within these documents, as opposed to ones with proper thumbnails, they are not included among the search results.
