I get the "Syncing temporarily paused"message much more frequently since around May 17, 2023. Usually, it takes at least several minutes. More than once, I waited 20 minutes before I just left the machine up so I wouldn't have two versions of the same note. Yesterday I had to leave the office computer on to avoid the multiple notes problem. Soon afterward, I started my home laptop finding old versions of my frequently-used notes on it. Spectrum (Charter) cable Internet speed is good, at least 325 MBPS down and 11 MBPS up. The office computer is Ethernet (CAT5) to the router. My home laptop is connected to the same cable with Ubiquiti Wi-Fi. Usually, no VPN. I get the same speeds at home as in the office. I use Windows 10, Chrome, and Evernote on the web on all devices. I am very dependent on Evernote. Please let me know if I can help.

I get the message you refer to and I also get the message that says something about temporarily pausing sync while trying to reconnect. Syncing has been a perennial EN problem for several years. EN wants us all on the web version, which I am, but EN doesn't have the technology to support it. In my opinion, the syncing problem should be JOB 1 at EN and new features are JOB 3 or 4. I've been using EN for 13 years. Early on, it was great. Unfortunately. for the past 3 - 4 years, I have unfrequently lost notes, and I have had more copies of various notes than I can remember. All this is part of the sync problem and EN needs to get on the stick and fix it.

I want to control what data is printed when I print a note. Now, I get the date and time at the top, the name of the note in small print and, again, in large print, and the link to the note at the bottom. I want to choose which and where those items print.

I wish I had the words to describe how sick I am of having at least 2 -3 sync problems EVERY SINGLE DAY. Today was a four-bagger! WOO-HOO Evernote, you are outdoing yourself. I keep looking for a replacement. Some day I will find one, probably before Evernote ever restores the sync button they once provided. I understand the toll the sync problem can put on servers, so, EVERNOTE, server-UP! This long-living situation truly SUCKS!

Evernote used to be an EXCELLENT app. I've used it on my Windows 10 computers and my iPhone for around 10 years with very few problems. Then they "improved" it about a year or so ago. This was when they eliminated the "sync" button instead of addressing the server issues. Since then Evernote has been caused me daily trouble, especially with erratic syncing resulting in duplicate notes. So, I moved to the web app thinking that would avoid the sync problem, but it's strange and poorly-designed interface is awful. Today, for example, a note I use every day ended up with 4 copies using the web app. Great huh? Surprisingly, the iOS app on my iPhone is steady and the most reliable Evernote app for me.

What I find more difficult to understand than the absence of a "Sync" button on the desktop version is the silence from the Evernote team! What a way to run a company and to lose customers!
