  1. I really like DT, but the lack of ability to put the data file in the cloud (dropbox, icloud, etc.) is a big negative to me since it makes sharing the data between computers a nightmare.
  2. I just ported over all my EN notes to Obsidian (about 2000) Took about 2 hours - save each notebook as an Evernote file then convert to markdown via Yarle. Seems to have worked fine. I put all my notes on Dropbox, which I have anyway, so the marginal cost of syncing is 0 to me. I think I've found workarounds to email imports. And there is a web scraper in Chrome which appears to work fine. The only piece I don't have yet is handwriting OCR in pdf's. This will give me enough time to test viability before I get hit by the increased renewal pricing.
  3. I took a brief look at Bear as well - not clear that they have an email capture/import pathway. The more and more I look at Obsidian, the more fascinated I get by transclusion (no email capture either, but I figured out that since I have OmniFocus Pro, I can email to OF and the copy paste to Obsidian). So an Obsidian Plan B is still a viable one for me.
  4. I've been an EN user since 2010, though have not been a frequent poster. The corporate decision to relocate to Europe and the takeover does give me some apprehension, But there are too many niches in a workflow that I am going to stick with EN with the increase (for me coming up in September) for at least another round. Have been looking at alternatives, and at this point a top contender for me is Obsidian, but lacking some capabilities I find very useful (email capture, web page capture). But maybe in a year, the situation may change.
