  1. You are right. The service page of EN took some more reality. I could report a bug (which I could not anymore for a month). I just did it for the above issue. Let's see what happens.
  2. Did not notice that the banner was gone. Last time I submitted a ticket (early March) about local note not being able to show with no connection. Still waiting. Got 2 polite messages saying they are working on it but not much help otherwise. Will try again with this one I guess. If I find an appropriate category. Because in the last 3 weeks they removed all categories but related with renewal. let s see if others have a better proposal or a solution for the issue discussed in this thread...
  3. Taking one note that exported with no title and exporting it again manually and alone generated a file with the title of the note (so Evernote finds it fine) but in the ENEX file the <title> tag is "untitled note". Taking the same note and exporting it to PDF is generating a PDF with the proper title. This looks like a real bug. I am on Mac OS version 10.81.4 I also checked the last export of Legacy and the title of the note is the correct one in the ENEX file. Should I report this as a bug ( assume this is not Mac OS specific) or has it been already reported?
  4. Hi: Same problem here. Has it been solved? Contacting support? Even this does not work? Is there at least a work around? Thanks
  5. Hi If my keyboard on by example a galaxy tab s9 is set to floating then I have no means to get to the note formatting toolbar. If I set the keyboard to standard then all is well and a new note or editing brings the toolbar at the bottom of the note window. I tried this on a phone s10 and have same behavior. It's there a means of forcing the toolbar to show? Do I miss something. I am on v10.80.0 Is this a known issue? Thanks
  6. Heated exchange! Those loving legacy and those loving V10 would probably agree on one thing: if Evernote dies then we lovers will all be in troubles. I have assumed for months that the "new" company behind Evernote would never dare turn Legacy off as the former did. 2 weeks ago I started to get really worried and tried a) to find an alternative b) to get v10 to work For a) I did not find many convincing alternatives aside of Obsidian with the Sync option. I got 5000+ sample notes out of Evernote into Obsidian in a few minutes with the standard importer with pictures and attachments and tags. Even the note links work! I have not tried the sync (which allows multi device multi platform) yet though. I find the user interface really basic but as with every new tool you tend to get used to things with time. I really miss the note thumbnail (which is by the way actually also broken in V10) and do not quite like the file/folder approach. It used to be more expensive than Evernote but with the new price increases announced this comes probably even. The real hurdle at this time aside user friendliness and the unproven reliability on a daily basis (especially of the tricky sync feature) is that I would have to change quite a lot of stuff I did using the Evernote API. So I continue on b) For b) after a full backup of all my notebooks I got rid of all my legacy installs on all my devices and got the latest V10 (I started with 10.79.0 a few weeks ago). Giving time for the syncs to settle and the conversion to complete (here I speak about days) V10 does start to deliver some useful and sensible results. It does seem to become speedier with time and more reliable. Offline notes seem to work BUT offline notebook do not for me. I keep having notes that are shown as local and downloaded but when offline do not show i.e. show as not being available. I also have a major issue on the Windows version where any attachment or picture put in a note from the Windows app do never (here I speak about weeks) show on any other device/platform. Text do sync fine though and this much better than Legacy ever did. Pictures and attachments inserted from other devices/platforms do come fine everywhere though (even on the Windows devices). In fact I got a Windows app working fine and it seems that the problem is not Windows but the IT infrastructure of the 2 problematic PCs that is probably filtering things out or slowing things down. Here I need to dig more... The note thumbnail is also broken (some here claim that it cannot be broken since it never worked even on our beloved Legacy: fact is that with a simple workaround that does not work anymore on V10 I used to be able to get the thumbnail I wanted and now on V10 I cannot). I assume that at one point of time this will be fixed. SO not nice but no show stopper at this time. I also missed the ability to set the location on notes but PinkElephant helped me today finding a solution on the mobile versions. I implemented a work around on the non mobile version using the API. I am therefore here good to go assuming that this will also be fixed eventually. And anyhow Obsidian does not have a native position field and therefore although this is not nice I am better off with EN on this matter. So in short: after hours of trying, reading this forum (thanks all for your contributions, suggestions, ...), posting, updating, backing up, de installing, re installing, syncing, force syncing... V10 seems to get rather close to be working for me. Naturally staying on Legacy would have spared me all this work but I assume that the owner of EN will not get much more funding "just" to keep EN Legacy running. I assume they must show results and new features and get new users. We will see in a couple of days how things turn out...
  7. OK. Thanks. Your solution above already helped a lot. On the Mac I will then work with the API to stuff the information into the proper field. Not great but at least on the mobile platform it works. Thanks again.
  8. OK. Thanks. On Android this works fine. Same on iOS. I actually need to long press the pin to get it to move. On Mac OS this does not work though. I have no access to the position location. Neither does the map show. Do you have a way to get to this position field on PC and or Mac OS? Actually the solution for me could be: a) have on PC and Mac OS the same function with the map and the drag of the pin as on the mobile versions b) have a text field with the position in the note information that would show the coordinate and would be editable (also copy and paste able) c) possibly a second position field with reverse geolocation of the said coordinate On Legacy b) and c) was combined in one field and I found it annoying for remote places and when needing to enter the position in another GPS system Thanks again.
  9. Yes adding new features... but not fixing long lasting issues. The thumbnail management has never been perfect but at least the workaround of making the image you wanted as a thumbnail the widest (in term of pixels) worked always. Now even this does not work anymore. Having a button or something on an image to set it as thumbnail would be clearly better. Understand me well: it is not that I do not like those "new" features: task management, connection with a folder and with a calendar, the concurrent working on a note are really cool things, easier to use search but ... I mostly take notes with Evernote, online and offline and this for ages. When this basic function is not reliable anymore or it takes for ever to get to my note then I do not even want to work with these new features, and really question if I still want to work with Evernote. Granted lately they have been improving a lot, turning version after versions. They are obviously sweating and fighting probably for life. Version 10.80 "almost" works for me except the offline thing and sometimes the long lag (here I speak about minutes) to get a note from one device to another. So there is hope. Maybe they will get to fixing the thumbnail thing once they cleaned up the mess out of 10.x. If I had a say in their priorities though I would pause with the new features and get the base of taking and sharing notes across devices rock solid again. The thumbnail is a key element of this but unfortunately not the only one.
  10. Dear PinkElephant: Thanks for replying. How can I add location myself? On the non mobile app I do not find any mention of location. On the mobile version I can view it but did not find a way of setting it. How do you do this? Any clue? Thanks
  11. HI, Would be nice to have this feature. This in particular since the current 10 version does not refresh the thumbnail if you add or change a picture. Even if you remove the picture the thumbnail it remains as thumbnail. In the "earlier" time with Legacy and before you could at least resize a picture to make it smaller or put a larger picture and this would work out as you want it . This workaround doe not seem to work for me anymore. It seems that the thumbnail is actually generated once per device and not refreshed later. I therefore have thumbnails across devices that are different based on when I synced the note first. Not too nice... Does anybody know have to force the refresh of the thumbnail? Thanks
  12. Hi, Have been fighting with the sync of pictures since I am on 10.x i.e. since the past 2 weeks on Windows app. It works now for me fine with Mac or Android or Web (also on Windows). I am here on Windows 10, upgraded to 10.79.3, removed the data folder, rebooted, logged in in Evernote, let it settle for at least 2 hours with perfect connection. After this I create a new note on Win, add a text, take a small screen shot (300x200 or something like this), add a closing text, click on an other note, wait. Go to Mac, find the note in the Home of Evernote, click it, I get the text fine. In place of the small screen shot I get a white circle and a blue rotating segment. I go to the Web interface on the Mac: same thing. I go back to the PC where I generated the note. All look fine. I then ensure on the Mac and the Web that the note is not opened. I then go to the PC and reload the troublesome note, select an other note. Go to the Web on the Mac: are thing white circle with a rotation blue segment. I then go on the PC and add a short text at the bottom of the note: go back to home, go to on the Mac and the added text shows up as expected but the image is still not showing. In short: embedded pictures added on the Windows side just do not sync with the server. Everything else in term of sync seems to work. Other platform do no show the same problem, Any idea? Thanks
  13. Thanks. Do you know if this takes the embedded pictures? And the attached files?
  14. Coming back from Obsidian to Evernote: why would you do this? Did you get troubles with Obsidian? Doesn't Sync work fine? For me so far Obsidian seems to be a good approach to run from the current reliability issues I experience with Evernote. I mean: they decide to phase out the only working for me version (Legacy), they quasi shut down support, and more than double the price and all this at the same time! This does not look like a move that makes sense for a healthy company. So what solution did you end up using? Are you really back with Evernote? Did the important from Obsidian to Evernote work with notes with pictures and/or attachments? Any hints? Thanks
  15. did not work for my Win 10 PC that does not sync the pictures. It does sync the the text though. Will then dig further...
  16. uhm... I have exactly the same troubles on the PC app on Win11 and Win10. I have version 10.78.0. I will continue to dig and try something similar and remove my local data yet again...
  17. thanks. Yet another test: on Edge with the Web EN I can add a note and add pictures. The note sync well to both PCs, my Mac and my Android. So the problem is really to get pictures and files in a note out from both my PC Win11 and Win 10. I have 10.78.0. They just show up locally in EN on those PC (i.e. the one I generated the note with) but cannot be seen even on web EN.
  18. Thanks. unfortunately I did logout, uninstall the app, reinstall a few hours before the described test above. I today try to logout and re login on the Android. I have not tried this on the PC though. But again I deinstalled everything before the above test, removed the local data from the PC (i.e. the Evernote directory) and reinstalled. SO I assume that my database should be clean enough. I also checked on the EN for web and the said pictures do not show (same circle). I did similar test between 2 MACs (one with a shared note book) and one with a local notebook. Works so far really fine. The note with pictures and attachment also come on the PC. I repeated similar test with a note generated from the PC with a picture (a screen shot) and a PDF attachment. Both show as before: the text is to be seen on all platform but the PDF and the screen shot is showing as syncing with the white circle and the blue segment rotating. In short the PC seems to the the trouble or possibly our IT environment that might filter things. Is there a means to track the sync and see if some traffic has been rejected? Thanks again
  19. Dear PinkElephant: Thanks and sorry for not being clear. My point was: will Evernote dare pull the plug on a Legacy system that does still a fantastic job of note taking. Granted it has less buzz and whistle and might have a few security leaks but it did work for ages with very little loss, never catastrophic on a daily basis with note taking and much more. About the sync issue I reported some examples of the sync troubles I experienced in a thread that existed. I also contacted EN support but after a week no feedback. The bets are open: will they really pull the plug on the Legacy version?
  20. 2 years later when this post started and I experience similar troubles with sync (10.78). On my side the problem is with pictures embedded in new notes: on a PC I create a note and it comes to the other devices fine. I then close the note from all devices and reopen on the PC, add a picture from the clip board and close the note on the PC. I go to my Android and the note is still there, shows it as downloaded (this is an offline notebook). I open it and in place of the picture I see a white circle with a blue segment turning. I reload, force reload on the PC, force sync on the Android. The picture does not show on the Android. I add a new picture on the Android in the same note, add text. On the PC the original picture shows but the picture added to the Android does not show (white circle), the text shows though. Force sync, reload and stuff. No way to get the 2 pictures showing on the 2 devices. Few posts speak about rebuilding the database. What does this means actually? How do I do this.
  21. I guess this is now the end of Evernote Legacy. Got yet an other annoying message saying that March 20 is over. At least this EN made it clear with a clear timeline. I wonder if they will dare do this... Unfortunately the latest 10.X does not work for me and this after girding all my devices and cleaning everything away locally. I am not speaking about the fancy new features but just about, you know, getting a note from device A to device B. And having it offline when it says that it is local. Noting magic for EN legacy. Obviously something really difficult for EN of today. I even found "work around" suggesting I should logout and login again, or reinstall, or reboot my device, ... what else? Will see if after all it will get to work.
  22. I had to migrate finally to 10.x (not my voice!) and one feature that I already reported as missing way back is still note their. Annoying because among others I manage my POI in Evernote (Ah! I still miss the Atlas view...). I used to put a GPS coordinate in the location Note Info field, it did even reverse geo tag it (although I could do with out it) and then got on my mobile device the position of the point. I also use the API to extract this position and generate a GPX file for different navigation system,. The position on the mobile device still works fine but I can set the position on neither my PC nor my MAC nor the web version. Could this field just be shown. If you have issues with the reverse geo code I can do without it
