  1. attempting further, I notice it is a bit random. Some search queries for tags work without a space too. Surely it's not random.
  2. tag:cad does not return any results on Windows desktop tag: cad does I thought there was no space required
  3. I like that. I might even call the temp notebook "tray"
  4. Generally for me it's not a problem, because I select notes from a single notebook. But do you find that you are scrolling a lot to select notes that placed a long way apart?
  5. Merge notes is great when the selected notes are either in the same notebook or not miles apart when in the 'show all notes' view. Is there a way to select multiple notes from different notebooks to merge? If not, I suggest a tray area on the main screen that you can drop notes into to group in various ways. Merge notes from different Notebooks Create table of contents for notes from different Notebooks Ability to switch the tray area on or off
  6. Is there a way to change the fonts in Windows EN version of Left Panel as well as Notelist? Google uses a beautiful font, Roboto which would be great to use here Thanks
  7. Thank for your help everyone. It is good to have worked it out. Whether it gets implemented into my workflow remains to be seen
  8. What I mean by the useless shortcut is dragging a note into its' own note panel (not the shortcut toolbar at top in Windows) creates a shortcut to itself. Perhaps it doesn't do this on a Mac? Not to worry. By putting this question out there I've worked out a way to roughly achieve what I'm after. I don't think there is any quicker way Create a TOC Create a new note (homepage) make a shortcut of this select notes (from anywhere) required for the TOC and right click to create a shortcut open the homepage shortcut and cntrl+v the s
  9. Thank you for your responses. I do get the idea of grouping notes to create a TOC. At it's best is very basic for my uses. It is a very manual way of doing things, and only gets more messy if you want change or add links. Something that may explain my need would be to cntrl+click several notes in the note list, drag them to a shortcut, which would then create a link to this shortcut. What I have noticed is that you can drag a note from the note list into the note panel to create a shortcut (to itself)! Not much use. What is the purpose of this feature?! If you want to
  10. IT would be great to have a 'basket' area for selected notes on main screen. Copying internal links between notes is time consuming (anti productive). Often it is difficult finding a note that you want to relate others to. I am aware that creating a shortcut will achieve this, but this is more of a workaround.
  11. If I 'screen clip' a document, an invoice for example, and drop it into EV, a search within 'all notes' will find the imaged word (not bad). But, if you go to the note that contains this screen clip and perform the same search, it will not find it. Search within a note will find text only I am guessing What gives?
  12. I found a solution for circular linking that is pretty quick. Right mouse click the TOC page in the 'note list' and select 'copy internal note link'// Hit the first note link on the TOC contents and cntrl+v (paste) the link at the top of the child note //Hit this new link which returns to the TOC contents //Hit the next child note link on the list and then control +v again etc etc. A little cumbersome perhaps but it does save a lot of mucking around. I appreciate what you are saying about ..... Cheers, Chris
  13. In his blog, https://evernote.com/blog/looking-ahead-evernotes-priorities-2019/ CEO Ian stated that 2019 will be the year of straightening Evernote out from the foundations. This is great news. Before moving forward into new features, he states that there needs to be consistency across platforms. (I have always been envious of the Apple colour scheme by the way:). Evernote is an incredibly useful tool. What stops me from finding more uses in my business and daily life is that some features are just not that easy to use. Having said that, Scanner is brilliant, and having just discovered using
  14. Well, I have somehow overridden it, but I'm not sure how. If I open a note on Android and select text, I can edit directly while bypassing the edit icon. Don't tell any developers please, they may change it! The big advantage here is that when you hit the edit icon inside a long text note, the screen refreshes to another position meaning that you have to find your location again.
  15. 'tis a pity there's no choice. Personally, I find the edit button major disincentive to create notes in the first place. In my lot as a building contractor, a single note has a lot of text/pic info that is recorded about a building site. These notes put any bit of important info right in front of me. Internal links are wonderful, but I don't always get the chance to create these until I am back in the office. What I do notice is that when you want to add/change a note on a smartphone, 2/3rds of the screen is taken up with keyboard which makes it, as I say, a disincentive to use
  16. Thanks. So are you saying that there is no way to turn this off within Evernote?
  17. When you open an existing note in Evernote Android, the edit button appears in bottom right corner. Is there a way to turn this feature on/off? I am aware that it will become easier to create mistakes with unwanted editing. Thanks, Chris
  18. When you take a photo in Android you choose between photo, document, business card etc. Android document copy should be the same thing as scannable.
  19. The new table editing feature is good. For unknown reason I cannot highlight an entire row or column anymore. As a sidenote, I had tried to edit a table that was created prior to the new release (6.6.4.5512). The editing feature has not worked since then. Maybe I stuffed it up. Comment: The table editing features are a welcome feature and tempt me into finding a whole lot more uses for it. I could get hooked if we could add simple mathematical formula.
  20. Thanks. Uninstall and reinstall fixed it. I used to always do this first when tech problems appeared and have got out the habit of doing it in recent years. I'll put it on my list as the first 'go to' next time. CB
  21. Never been a problem before and am wondering if this is a bug. Single photos can be saved in a note, but multi shot won't. The photos show in the preview screen, but no content is visible when you open the note. Multi shot is selected in settings. As a description, try this.. To better describe the problem, try the following On your Android, create a new note select camera.. select photo.. take photo and save with tick. You will see "saving note to in_box" or other notebook select camera again and take another one repeat the saving process You
