(Archived) Finding untagged notes

Apologies if this is an FAQ (but I couldn't find it easily if it was)

How do I find notes that have NO tag associated with them?

This isn't immediately obvious from the UI and causes me some concern since sometimes I forget to tag things (or am in too much of a rush to do so) and I want to go back later and clean-up these "untagged" entries.

Type this in the search box:

-tag:*

[katahdin 8]

Or how about clicking on the tag label - ie sort on tags - will group notes by tag

Dave's tip will filter any note with a tag from your note list; katahdin's will move untagged notes to the top (or bottom) of your note list. Both of these are dependent on the current notebook selection.
