Remove Background

I need to remove the background color of a paragraph.

The current workaround methods of removing the background color is not simple, and not coherent.

One process that works for me is to update the background colour in table properties (right click, Tables) 
This works on various items, for example that ugly banner when you merge notes.

Try this:  Select the paragraph, and then apply Format > Simplify Formatting.

If you don't select anything, it will be applied to the whole note.

If your content is already in a note and you are trying to remove the background color, then select all of the text and click the highlight button to highlight all of the text, then click the highlight button again to remove the highlight.  When the highlighting is removed, the background color is set to white, thus removing the original background color.
