Scannable vs scanning inside Evernote

Is there any difference between scanning using the Scannable ios app, versus scanning from inside Evernote? I have been using the app, but seems like it isn't necessary and actually a bit more cumbersome to scan into Evernote than just scanning from within Evernote. Am I missing something?

Thanks

Hi.  Scannable (I think) has a better and more up to date setup for scanning and recognising text.  That will be rolled over into Evernote once they complete development,  and Evernote's scanning team may well be getting updates from the Scannable guys which are included with updates.  Evernote is definitely better for scans of pictures and can resolve colours better.  I think the best answer here is:  try both and use whichever one suits you best.  I'm used to scanning with the Evernote app (Android user here :() so I'm unlikely to add Scannable even when it becomes available - unless by then it has tricks the main app can't (yet) do.

If that is the case (i.e., where Scannable, as a separate app, will eventually be rolled into Evernote), this is one heck of a confusing strategy.  At least let us know that is the case through some official channels.

? Don't understand the difficulty.  Maybe I explained it badly.

Scannable is a separate app that does about 1% of what Evernote can do.  It's specialised in getting document scans that you might want to save to Evernote,  or can save wherever you like.  It's also free.

Evernote is.. well,  Evernote.  It can scan,  save,  OCR,  search works in multiple OS's (tried using Scannable on your Mac yet?) and some things are charged for.

Since both apps are operated by the same company any useful developments will inevitably bleed between the two.  If you have a device that will run both apps,  you probably don;t need both.  Choose whichever one works for you.
