mltsao 0
Is it possible to have notes that are created at a certain location - IE work, home - automatically filed into a certain notebook? Thanks Link to comment
Level 5* CalS 5,307 Posted March 25, 2015 Level 5* Share Posted March 25, 2015 I don't believe so automatically. Workaround, using a desktop version in list view you can display location (3 options on Windows in any case). You can bulk select and move to a notebook from there. FWIW. Link to comment

Thanks One approach is to set the default Notebook based on the computer/location. So if you are using different PCs at work and home, then set the default Notebook in both accordingly. Also, if you have selected a Notebook in list view, then there will be a button on top to create "Note Note in <SelectedNotebook>" Link to comment
Level 5* CalS 5,307 Posted March 25, 2015 Level 5* Share Posted March 25, 2015 @JM, not sure but aren't we stuck with one default notebook across platforms and devices for an account? Assuming we are talking about the same default notebook where email goes. Link to comment
Level 5* JMichaelTX 4,118 Posted March 25, 2015 Level 5* Share Posted March 25, 2015 @CS: Yep, I think you're probably right. AFAIK, there is only ONE default Notebook, that is used by all clients, web clipper, and email. So, the OP would need to start each session at Work, or at Home, and change the default Notebook.Just selecting the NB you want to work in may be better/faster. This is easily done with a shortcut key (CMD-J in EN Mac, forgot the EN Win key). Link to comment

Thanks If you were to filter by any particular location, that's a context all on its own right there. Wouldn't filtering by a certain location yield the same notes as filtering for a notebook where notes created at a certain location were automatically filed to? Even if you wanted to include other miscellaneous notes (created at miscellaneous locations) in the same notebook as notes created at a specific location, you'd also be able to create a saved search which filters both the contents of certain notebooks, tag contexts etc... as well as those noted created at a specific location. ... Else round location-based notes up from time to time and move them wherever you need (as @cshilling suggested) Link to comment
