Paste text between Notes and Keep Formatting

I am attempting to paste text from an exisitng note to a new note.  The text includes formatting (fonts, colors, bold, italics).  How can I paste text between notes and preserve formatting?  Since it is in the same Evernote text language, I presume that it must be possible.

I haven't uaed my Windows app for several months and don't recall if I ran into that problem or not.

I do know you can't do it on the Android Client. It's definitely a pain in the patootie!

Have you tried copying and pasting?  What happens?
