ENattachmentToPDFHelper eats my mac (memory)

Recommended Posts

Hi,

since today I run into problems with my Macs (running Evernote).

The process ENattachmentToPDFHelper is getting more and more memory, until it stalls my Mac

A window pops up saying it runs out of ApplicationMemory and I should kill some applications.

After some investigation I found that the evil is in ENattachmentToPDFHelper.

It takes a lot of memory, and when I kill it, the Mac is normal again.

After reboot this seems to come back.

My questions :

  • anyone else have this problem (I have it on my iMac and Macbook pro, starting at about the same moment)
  • what is  ENattachmentToPDFHelper
  • any fix?

I run EN 5.5.2 premium.

Macs run latest OS version

Thanks

Luc

Do you have lots of office documents in your account? What about large office documents?

There are indeed a lot of office documents in my notes.

How can that be an issue?

What is the side-effect of killing the application ?

Since today, I've had the same problem.

Today I've been working in Evernote on text-only notes.

I have no large office attachments. Though there are a lot of largeish images and PDFs attached to various notes. (But not in the notebook I'm working on.)

For me, this process (ENattachmentToPDFHelper) is eating up 718MB of memory and 99% of my CPU power.

I'm running Yosemite 10.10, Evernote 5.6.2 and a mid-2013 Macbook Air.

Thanks.

Are there any updates or better answers to this topic. This "ENattachmentToPDFHelper" is killing my brand new MacBookPro/ Sierra 10.12.3.
Was trying to figure out what drains my battery and it seems EN is the problem: 99.8% Energy impact, 453 MB memory , 99.1% CPU ....
