(Archived) I can't see audio notes on Evernote for Mac.

I've recorded audio notes using my iPhone that play and register fine on the phone but when synced to Evernote for Mac they show a black rectangle with 'no video' written across. I've attached a screenshot but can't figure out hot to play or open the audio file.

Do you have any audio or video plugins for Safari installed? Or any funky Quicktime plugins?

It seems that you have a third-party media player installed in your system instead of the default Quicktime.

Try this to fix the problem:

Dave - thanks but i checked your link and made sure that Quicktime was the default player for WAVE among other files (it was already). So the mystery remains. Is there something otherwise to do with Safari? (firefox is my main browser).

Can you try going to Help->Installed Plugins in Safari and seeing what plugins are installed?

I believe "VLC Multimedia Plug-in" is your culprit.

Can you try temporarily removing/disabling this plugin to see if the problem goes away?

We plan to write our own audio plugin to prevent issues like this and to allow easier exporting of audio directly from a note (e.g. Save As, Drag and Drop).
