sjrixon 24 Posted August 13, 2013 Posted August 13, 2013 Help.. I hadn't realised, when you copy a note, it doesn't keep the tags. Am I missing something? I re-use a few template notes and now have a bunch of notes that I expected to be tagged the same, with no tags.. Just installed the Beta, and it appears the same.
Level 5 jbenson2 2,149 Posted August 13, 2013 Level 5 Posted August 13, 2013 It depends how you are copying the note (template). If you are doing a simple copy and paste (Ctrl + C) from one note to a new note, you will only copy the actual note If you want the tags as well, right click on the note header in the Note List panel and select Copy Note.
spg SCOTT 736 Posted August 13, 2013 Posted August 13, 2013 If you choose "Notebook" when you copy the note then you should see an option to preserve tags (and created/updated dates) http://www.evernote.com/shard/s26/sh/bf3896ce-dca0-4035-b2af-5216622722ce/388c3e257d650c2f2adafbdb63127358
Paul Lemmens 0 Posted January 20, 2014 Posted January 20, 2014 Indeed that is the correct approach. Do note (however?) that the shortcuts that Evernote automatically creates when you use the right-click Copy option preserves the settings as indicated in the above mentioned screenshot (http://www.evernote.com/shard/s26/sh/bf3896ce-dca0-4035-b2af-5216622722ce/388c3e257d650c2f2adafbdb63127358). For me this took a while to sink in!
