They are using a cool stylus. it looks like a tip added on to a regular pen.

Does anyone know what it is called or where i could purchase one?

I can't view the video at work, but I think it's an Adonit Jot Pro - http://adonit.net/jot/pro/. In the UK you can get them for between £20-25 on Amazon. I have one and subject to a few tips I have given in other areas of the forum (such as here - http://discussion.evernote.com/topic/40109-wrist-turns-page-when-writing-is-there-a-way-to-prevent-this/) it's absolutely fantastic.
