stanwelks 1 Posted December 4, 2012 Posted December 4, 2012 I am using Evernote on my Mac and I want to eventually synch to Evernote on my Android. Under my Notebooks I have the following notebooks:- Buy with an untitled note with items to buy- Links with a note called Links that contains links- Notebook Stack with my notebook 1 containing a welcome message from Evernote- also in the Notebook Stack is another notebook called Things to do that contains 6 separate notes with items in each of the notes. Is this the right way to setup my notebooks and notes? Can anyone give me any advice on a better way to use Evernote? Thanks!!!!

The setups vary from user to user.I like to use Evernote with- Just a few broad, general notebooks (Job, Leisure, Home, Personal)- Many short and specific notes (appointment reminder, receipts, scanned cell phone bill, website captures)Additional tips -I try to stick with a structured title for the majority of my notes.Note titles usually begin with date (year-month-day) followed by location, subject, person involvedUse tags to help find the information laterLearn Evernote search grammar to manage my notes

Asking for advice on how to use it is kind of like asking for the best way to spend your free time over the weekend. There is no right or wrong / best or worst answer. Here is how I use Evernote.http://www.princeton.edu/~cmayo/evernote-organization.htmlHere is how I use Notebooks.http://www.princeton.edu/~cmayo/evernote-notebook.htmlHere is how I use Tags. You'll see jbenson there as well.http://www.princeton.edu/~cmayo/evernote-tag.htmlHere are some general tips from other users for getting started with the app.http://www.princeton.edu/~cmayo/evernote-links.htmlAnd, of course, you can search in these forums for all sorts of advice. Good luck!
