Hi and welcome to the Forums..

There's no Evernote command to highlight text in this way, but if you create your note in an external word processor with that highlight then cut and paste it into Evernote, the highlight will show up.

The iOS client is currently the only client with support for highlite (the ! toolbar icon).

The other clients support setting text color.

You could also use the 3rd party ENML Editor to hand edit highlites. Not really practical, but, it does work.

e.g.

<?xml version='1.0' encoding='utf-8'?>
<!DOCTYPE en-note SYSTEM "http://xml.evernote.com/pub/enml2.dtd">
<en-note>
<p style="margin-top:0px;margin-bottom:0px;">
Test 4.2 editor
</p>
<p style="margin-top:0px;margin-bottom:0px;">
Test
<span style="background-color:orange;">
highlite
</span>

</p>
<p style="margin-top:0px;margin-bottom:0px;">

</p>
</en-note>

How can i create a background clour in a part of the text in a note ?

This feature has been requested since 2008 by many, many users.

For some unknown reason Evernote has not seen fit to implement it in either EN Win or EN Mac.

See Note highlighting thread for more info.
