Nested Notes

Alex512

Idea

I am using Evernote extensively as a learning tool.
When I prep for an exam I create a lot of notes, in average 30-50, that are organised in different notebooks.

However for each notebook, all notes are flat, on the same level.

So for me to go around the issue, I have to add numbering in each Note title, e.g.

Notebook

00 - Note

01 - Note

01.1 - Note, etc.

Would be great if the notes can be nested with a collapsable parent note,

this will add a lot more organisation in case where many notes are created..

You may use stacks of notebooks. This is the only possibility to get a "hierarchical" notebook structure. But I think it will not fit you specific needs of ordered notes.

Because there are only two usefull criterias to sort notes (by title or by creation date), your numbering might be a good solution. I for myself set meaningful creation dates. It depends on your needs whether this is a good idea for you.

@Alex512 simply use links and a TOC table of content note. EN even has the courtesy to add automatically a backlink, that allows to navigate in both directions.

Links and TOCs are not restricted to a linear relationship, like nesting would be. A note can be linked to several others, and there can be specific TOCs for certain purposes in parallel.
