(Archived) REQUEST: Please save the URL of a clipped article too

I hope this is the right forum for a small request. Webclipping works great, but it would be very helpful if the source link to the article would also be safed into a new note. Is this possible?

How are you doing your clipping. URLs are saved when you use the various web clippers (e.g. the Chrome extension and Firefox addin).

I use Firefox with the Firefox add-on. I mark everything I want to safe with the mouse and click on the add-on icon.

Ah, I'm using Firefox 4, which is not compatible with the Evernote add-on. You might try the bookmarklet, which you can find at the bottom of this page: http://www.evernote.com/about/download/web_clipper.php.

What desktop client do you have installed on that machine? I believe it should be setting the "source URL" correctly when you clip from Firefox.

I have the latest desktop version installed 4.2.0.3639.

This is what I do, first I mark some text with the mouse:

And then I use either the Firefox add-on or the webclipper. This is what I get:

As you can see there is no link to the source.

Am I doing something wrong?

No, just that you have to show the information of the note.

You can use F8 (repeated presses switch between views), to show the info or click on the drop down arrow in the right above the note content.
