JennyJ 0
I was trying to sync my laptop to my phone as I noticed they were not the same. It kept coming up "unable to sync" with a red icon in the sync button. I signed out of devices and back in and that did not solve the problem. I signed out of evernote on my laptop app and now when I try to sign back in it tells me it "cannot connect to server" even though my phone is working fine. I input all data on my laptop, however my phone is more up to date that what is showing on my laptop. I'm confused and now am unsure if all my data is still there or if I have lost some. Any ideas for me?? Link to comment

Level 5 PinkElephant 8,846 Posted July 2 Level 5 Share Posted July 2 @JennyJ your laptop never syncs to your phone (and vice versa). There is no direct sync between devices. All sync goes from the client to the EN server, and from there to all other devices. That’s the first thing to remember. Since you are on Free we can’t advise to check on the web client, because this would be a third device. You are limited to 2 devices, which are already in use. For the syncing on the laptop there may an interaction between the EN client and your browser - if you use Chrome or a Chromium sibling like Edge or Brave, or many others. EN is based on the Chromium derived ELECTRON framework. So follow this help document, even if you don’t use the web client. https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/articles/29322080984851-How-to-clean-your-browser-s-cache Link to comment
