JustinAiken 0 Posted January 14 Share Posted January 14 I've been using the desktop app to manage my life, using local notebooks. I've now been forced logged out, it made me download a new version... Did, and it doesn't see all my old notebooks. I'm now locked out of my own data - IMPORTANT data. Evernote, how do I fix this? I need my own data out of the desktop app you've decided to lock us all out of. Link to comment
JustinAiken 0 Posted January 14 Author Share Posted January 14 Oh. Not just locked out. Deleted. That's right, when I clicked the upgrade button, it deleted 20GB of local notebooks. I just lost my entire life. Link to comment
Level 5 Dave-in-Decatur 3,979 Posted January 15 Level 5 Share Posted January 15 Evernote 10 has, for whatever reason, never used local notebooks. Here's a help article on how to get them into v. 10: https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/articles/209005107. But I don't think I've heard people saying that they've been deleted altogether. Take a look around: is it possible that they've been moved to a different folder? Link to comment

If the help article doesn't work for you try downloading an older version from file hippo. Hopefully, you will find one that will currently still work, and then export your local notebooks ASAP.
