Readwise Highlight Tags Don't Export to Evernote

I recently connected my Reawise account to Evernote. All of my notes exported to Evernote, and all of my document tags did as well. However, none of my Readwise highlight tags exported over as Evernote tags. By that I mean, highlight tags appear the body of the note at the end and are marked "tag," but aren't listed as Evernote tags. I've included a screenshot.

Have others had this experience, and if so, did you find a solution?

Tags need to be send in a specific format through the API to be recognized as such. This in general works, I have apps that successfully create tags in imported content.

This means: You need to contact Readwise about this topic. They need to provide the correct information for the API.

Thanks. I contacted Readwise and was told that they had made a decision not to export Readwise highlight tags to Evernote tags based upon user feedback. According to Readwise users though exporting Readwise highlight tags would "clutter" up the list of tags in Evernote. For me, at least, I would like to have them exported over.
