Yaroslav.SR 1
Hey, I can't find a note I created. I just made a note in one of my notebooks and saved it by clicking the green check mark. When I went back to the notebook I saw it available but after a few minutes, it just disappeared. I tried logging out and signing back in but nothing, I even updated the app on my phone. I also tried looking at my trash on both my phone and the web but still no hope. What can I do? Link to comment
Level 5* gazumped 12,075 Posted November 16, 2023 Level 5* Share Posted November 16, 2023 Hi. You can't 'save' an item by clicking the green check mark. Everything syncs back to Evernote's servers automatically. Have you tried searching for the content you saved? Link to comment
Level 5 PinkElephant 8,838 Posted November 16, 2023 Level 5 Share Posted November 16, 2023 Just as an explanation: When you edit a note on iOS, the green checkmark appears. Once you hit it, the edit mode it terminated, and the note is saved, but only to the device memory. In the notes list it will show with a green triangle. The triangle means "This note has changes that still need to sync to the server". It does NOT mean that it is syncing in this moment ! It will eventually sync by itself, within a few minutes. You can encourage a sync by pulling the notes list down with a finger, and let it go. Or go to app settings, Synchronization and choose Sync Now. What you describe would mean that the note did not sync to the server, but was overwritten with server content. Weird ... Does the note still exist, or was the whole note lost ? Link to comment
Yaroslav.SR 1
Gazumped: Thanks for the response, yes I've tried searching for the note on both my phone and web. Additionally, I recently started using Evernote so I do not have many notes. PinkElephant: Thank you for responding, No it appears the whole note was lost. Link to comment
Level 5 PinkElephant 8,838 Posted November 16, 2023 Level 5 Share Posted November 16, 2023 Hmmmm - from my experience quite unlikely (which doesn't say it can't happen). Have you already searched for the note ? It is much more likely it was misplaced (into a different notebook) than erased. Have you checked the Trash yet ? Link to comment
Yaroslav.SR 1
PinkElephant: Hey. Ya, I've already tried looking for it in different notebooks and there's nothing in the trash. Link to comment
Abi Ajibola 0
I literally just experienced the same issue. I created the note 07/11 just updated it and clicked on copy so I could paste in Word and everything disappeared. Is there anyway I can get this content back as its my presentation for a conference? Level 5 PinkElephant 8,838 Posted November 16, 2023 Level 5 Share Posted November 16, 2023 Then you can only try support. But I wouldn't be too optimistic - first they are quite busy, which leads to long waiting times, and second they can help, but magic is beyond their means. Link to comment
Yaroslav.SR 1
PinkElephant: Well that's unfortunate, thanks for the help anyway. 1 Link to comment
