virtual keyboard stopped working for text entry or editing

Recommended Posts

started today, 11/02/2023, on both iPad and iPhone; similar problem on web  version.  Running iOS 17.1 on iPhone 11 Pro Max and iPadOS 17.1 on iPad 8th gen, but same problem occurred before update to 17.1.  Running Evernote 10.57.2 (1211435) on both iPad and iPhone

Problem is, whenever attempt to start new note or edit old one, keyboard pops up for less than a second, then ducks back down and stays down.  Same problem also occurs when try to enter text in search bar.  On web version (using Safari 17.1 on MacBook Pro 2020), may edit and create new notes, but cannot save.

wtf?

Exactly same here. Issue started this morning. Replicates on iPhone iOS version 16.7.1 AND 16.7.2. Also same on my iPad (running latest iPad OS 16.7.2). I’ve tried:

  • signing out and signing in on iOS Evernote app;
  • deleting & reinstalling Evernote app, and
  • updating Evernote app on both iPhone and iPad to latest version.

None of these have worked. Currently no announcements by Evernote on Twitter nor on Evernote Status page.

Currently impossible to use Evernote on either iPhone or iPad. Great work, guys.

OK - We're not Support,  or any flavour of Evernote - mostly users here.  If you have an access issue please contact Support. No idea what may have caused your issue except the current version of the iOS client doesn't seem to be that well liked.  There may be updates in the pipeline.  Please do specify what version of Evernote you have,  and what external keyboards are attached (if any).

Update fixed it for me.  Running 10.58.0 now.  Good God that was frustrating for a few days though.  And with all respect to Gazumped’s point about contacting Support (which I also did), I very much appreciate this forum as a place for the peasants to gather with their pitchforks and howl with inarticulate rage.  When appropriate.
