Cant Create new note but can create new notebook, task, and tag

would like to create new notes but cant using windows app please help. Tried doing ctrl+n and tried clicking on new note. Also closed and opened again still same issue.

Hi.  What version of Widows are you using?  Are you a new user or is this a recent update?  Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling?

Windows 10 , this is a recent update from Evernote legacy, yes I have tried reinstalling itll work for a bit then stop.

Is there a previous version of Evernote 10 I can use? Reinstalling over and over again is something I don't want to do

If you've updated recently,  hopefully you're using v10.58 which is working fine for me (but on Win 11).  You should not have to reinstall to create a new note.  If you click on the big green button to create a new note,  what options do you see?

(And no,  you don't get to downgrade to an older v10 - it would just upgrade again to the latest version.)

Its working now but who knows when itll do it again. This time i pressed the green button, even before with the green button the loading circle would come up and go awa fast.

This time I did try something different I went into task manager and closed some Evernote background processes maybe that is the solution but I hope I dont have to keep doing that

That's usually a VERY bad idea.  The app should work seamlessly if you installed it and use it correctly.  There are updates,  but usually no more than every couple of weeks.  If you click on 'new note',  you should get a new blank note within a few seconds.  If that's not happening,  you need help or a different app!

I think if others are having the same problem they would be posting here in support or agreement.  If you're a subscriber you could contact Evernote Support (we're mainly just others users here..) to get some more feedback.

I think I figured half of it out may have to do with connectivity. I'm able to post here but now when I reset my Ethernet Evernote is saying im offline. But im still able to browse the Internet.  So Evernote not recognizing my Internet connection?

Do you run a firewall software ? Sometimes you may do so without even knowing, it’s part of some internet security suites.

A firewall can block specific apps or specific web servers. It’s not unheard that it wrongly lists a server on a blacklist, which effectively stops the computer to communicate with that server. In this case the firewall software will allow to unblock / whitelist the server.

A firewall can be located on the router as well.

Another reason can be ad blocking software, like a PiHole. It has blocklists as well, that can stop communication.

Without knowing your network it’s hard to tell.
