Upgrade to 10.58 in Windows 8.1, and the evernote cannot NEVER be launched again!

Hi.  Evernote v10 requires Windows v10 to run.  The underlying code base on which Evernote is hosted recently withdrew any support for Windows 7 or 8 since Microsoft no longer offers security updates.  Your choices are:  change the operating system,  or find one of the online sites that offers 'earlier versions' of software.  Beware that security at those sites cannot be guaranteed,  and you're unlikely to get any support for an older version (or Windows 8).  An internet search for "Evernote 10.57.10" or an earllier version back to 6.25 should get you some options.

If I remember it well, it started before 10.57 already that there were forum posts about problems with older Windows versions.

Here are some older installers available:

However be warned about this approach. First EN v10 is based on a framework, that itself is a browser engine without a front end. This browser engine (as all of them) has security issues, and these will ONLY be fixed in the most recent version.

Second EN changed the syncing method recently. Currently they are still supporting both methods in parallel. This will stop one day, and then the older versions will become unusable.

Third it does not fix your operation of an unsupported, unsafe operating system. Every PC that is able to run Win 7, 8 or 8.1 is able to run Win 10. The only way to operate the older OS versions in a safe way is to air gap them - stand alone machines without internet connection.  Any PC running EN can't be air gapped, at least not for an extended period of time.

The safe(r) alternative would be to install a modern browser, and use the web client instead.
