Unable to open a pdf file from the browser after HTML export

After a notebook is exported in html (regradless the options selected), pdf attachements cannot be opened in the browser. I see the pdf link but when i click, it is not opening the file 

Also lots of data produced from the export in the HTML files, is this all necessary?

Could this be cleaned a litlle more?

The files themselves should open. They are in a folder in the same folder where the HTML export file is stored.

It is just the links to the files that don’t work. This is a long running bug, unfortunately still not fixed.
