WriterBwonderful 2
All of my apostrophes are now the characters #x27; How to change this? Link to comment
Level 5 Dave-in-Decatur 4,004 Posted May 27, 2023 Level 5 Share Posted May 27, 2023 Hello, and welcome to the forums. Issues like this have been reported multiple times, mainly in non-Roman-alphabet scripts (Cyrillic, Arabic, Chinese...). In what language or alphabet are you writing? Does your keyboard convert "straight" apostrophes to "smart" (curved) ones? Someone else reported curved apostrophes, which are represented by an ASCII code outside the basic set, being converted to code strings (which is what you're seeing). Link to comment
Level 5 PinkElephant 8,754 Posted May 27, 2023 Level 5 Share Posted May 27, 2023 From the other threads and what we learned, I doubt it is all apostrophes. It may be all apostrophes in notes created by the Android Widget or QuickNote function. If it has spread further, we have a different issue. BTW what you see it the Unicode expression for the symbol you are missing. This means the data is not lost, it just shows in a different way. We hope EN will release a fix that switches the viewing back to the correct way. In both cases it would make sense to contact support. Link to comment

English, and it's not my keyboard input. It's after I've saved the note. Link to comment

I write almost all of my notes via widget so that tracks. I was hoping to find a setting to tweek that might be able to fix it w/o contacting support. Ironically I only noticed when in was showing someone how great EN was to get them to use it! Thanks again Link to comment

Thanks again Ouch! It does seem to be something that happens on Evernote's servers after notes have been taken in a widget and then synced. Would be best to add to support, so they can add it to the list of reports they've gotten over the last month or more. You should see what happens to notes in Arabic (and Greek and Hebrew).
