Hello to all:

Hyperlinks in Windows are misinterpreted in Evernote 10. All backslashes are reversed to slash. This makes them not work anymore. Also umlauts (äöü) are not accepted and converted to ex: "Unterstützung" to "Unterstützung".

In Evernote Legacy this was not a problem.

Oups - it works fine in EN10.56.9. Earlier version had this problem (IIRC).

If a write i.e. "d:\temp", then mark the text, click CTRL-K the define a hyperlink, enter "d:\temp" to the link-field and "OK" (or "Anwenden" in German UI 😉), the new hyperlink works OK in EN-application.

It cannot work in EN-browser because the browser does not allow to open local folder (normally)
Don't be worried about the tooltip on such a hyperlink. You will see a decorated (but valid) address like "file:///d:/%5Ctemp". "%5C" is a synonym of "\" and "file:///d:" advises a browser to use a file:-protocol instead of default "http:".

This is also true for Umlauts - they are escaped to a %-syntax to be valid HTML. Even links like "d:\temp\Umlaute-äöü-ÄÖÜ-ß.txt" work correct on my maschine. They open my default text editor to edit this file...

Just tried the same on my Mac, 10.56.9, Ventura 13.3.1 (a).

The link is copied with "http:///<path to file>" from the Finder. When I replace the http with the string "file", the linked file on my local drive opens just fine. The defined standard application is used to open it. The link shows in plain text, no character conversion, not for slashes, not for Umlaute.
