mmore 4
When the web clipper extension is installed in Safari pressing the down arrow on the keyboard once causes Safari to scroll to the bottom of the page. This happens on any web page and when the web clipper is not being used. De-activating the clipper and restarting Safari remove the problem. Safari version 16.4 (18615.1.26.11.23) - latest web clipper (7.32.1 updated 15th April 2023). 1 Link to comment
Level 5 PinkElephant 8,117 Posted April 15, 2023 Level 5 Share Posted April 15, 2023 True - this is the downside. The same is true for the upside as well: The up-arrow key takes you to the top of the website. In both cases it won't jump, it is a nice, pretty slow (and on longer websites annoyingly long) scroll to the very end or top. Bug reports in the forum won't have any effect, BTW. If you want something fixed, issue a support ticket. Link to comment
mmore 4
Thanks for the update - I'll raise a support ticket. This only happens in Safari - on Firefox and Chrome there is no scroll effect when using the up/down keys so this looks like a bug not a feature. 2 Link to comment
David Bent 2
Did you raise a support ticket - I have just found that Evernote is the culprit in this action as well. Link to comment
mmore 4
Hi David, yes support ticket raised and support team have replicated the problem and are working on it. 1 Link to comment
Karen Collett 0
I just ran into this also. I'm a bit surprised it hasn't been fixed yet, given that it basically forces you to disable the web clipper extension if you use arrow buttons with Safari. Link to comment
Lipo 0
Not fixed up to now, Ticket raised as well Link to comment
Lipo 0
So the ticket has been closed as the evernote team wasn't able to replicate this problem. Link to comment
mmore 4
Thanks for heads up, when I raised the ticket I was told that the problem had been replicated! Link to comment

Sorry to hear that the ticket is closed. The problem persists on Safari 16.6 and OS 13.5.2. Attached is an example. This really needs to be fixed. scrolling.m4v Link to comment
